Following on from the success of LIGHT UP THE LADIES BRIDGE,
Thames Festival 2016, we bring you:
STORIES FROM THE FOUR CORNERS - PUTTING PEOPLE IN THE FRAME
100 years since 1918 when women began to get the vote - celebrating the power to shape the world we live in.
This project has two strands:
An epic event during Totally Thames September 2018, curating story tellers and artists to bring the rich seam of universal suffrage, women’s history and the landscape of Waterloo Bridge to life, through story, drama, projection large and small, starting from the four empty plinths and expanding into the surrounding landscape.

In January 2018 a national UK competition will be launched to challenge schools and further education students to design a new pieces of artwork for the four empty plinths. An inspiring educational resource kit will provide schools and further education with the tools to encourage their students to combine art, history and the principles of engineering.
